Technically speaking and in terms of taxes system you’re considered an entrepreneur from the moment you are self-employed. Here in France there are different models for the tax system depending on how much you earn but all of them involve the ‘auto-entrepreneur’ status. So according to your point, would employees only be ‘allowed’ to call themselves employees until they have started earning a certain amount? Food for thought:)
